Not sure what the last two skills should be, so I went with Moloch's suggestion. I would sincerely love [Oppressive Gaze] to be viable again.

The trouble is though, that by spamming your main to damage skills, you'll only achieve what, 40 mabye 50 DPS max on a single target.

1. I've got to admit I've got an ulterior motive here. I'm introducing a hero-runnable build that manages "40 maybe 50 DPS max on a single target" with pretty good survivability expecting a lukewarm response. People are going, "well, it would work, and it wouldn't be terrible, but the damage output is really kinda weak..." Then I want folks to turn around and think about that other hero-runnable build that manages "40 maybe 50 DPS max on a single target" and wonder why the hell anyone ever thought it was really, really good. Cough... cough... cough... discordway... cough...

(Though I'm probably preaching to the choir here in the necro subforum. I know that neither you, nor Moloch, nor Car needs any convincing on this point.)

2. I'm not really thinking of it as a player-build unto itself. It's just not good enough. I'm more thinking of [jaundiced gaze][dark pact] as maybe some space fillers on an Ether-Orders bar (add Mindbender to solve the cast time problems). Or maybe a "Jaundiced-way" 3-hero team or a "Ether-way" 6-hero team (4 Jaundice ER + 2 Infuse/Prot ER) as a small step up for people stuck on Discordway.

3. I like [awaken the blood] for Jaundiced spam.

4. I like [Dark Aura]. It would probably be hilarious to put it on a Ether-Orders hero with a melee weapon.

5. I'm curious about [Blood Bond]. Since you'd have enough self-healing not to care about the -10 degen, is a 100%-uptime party-wide 5 regen (6 with AtB) worth thinking about?

A Discordway hero only needs one (elite though) skill to do more than 33 DPS, the rest is purely open to whatever you want him to do. Triple the dps and you get a nice spike without downtime between mobs. Plus, an unlimited source of energy and healing (also for your other party members and allies ), AoE damage and meat shields from the utility part of the builds. That's why people 'think' that discordway is really good.

Well, it certainly didn't take very long to get a spirited and erroneous defense of discordway. As much as I'd like to respond, doing so would derail this thread into a fight about discordway. I'd be happy to take it up in another thread though.

Its quite easy - you just need to post a 1 player (any profession)+3 heroes+ 4 henchmen builds that is more effective than discord.

You slap that one in the forums and you are done.

If not what you keep saying is that discordway is bad because the support characters can add armor ignoring/blocking ignoring damage when they are idle or even spike if necessary - and a spike that leads to a kill is much more efficient that a higher constant DPS that doesn't, particularly in the PvE context.

Now if what you are saying is that 4+ copies of discord is a waste, then yes you are right
